Educational Programs

We fully trust and believe in the public schools in West Dallas and come alongside them to enhance educational outcomes. We work particularly with the "teacher technologist" in these schools to bring "technology" which helps the teachers to be even more effective.

Mercy Street provides funding and technical assistance for the development of "Interactive Engagement" teaching techniques. This technology (Q Time) promises significant improvements in learning by making the teacher even more productive in the classroom. It complements, in the classroom, the essence of the Mercy Street mentoring strategy. A recent study, conducted by Mercy Street and the school district documenting the benefits of "Interactive Engagement", can be viewed by clicking here (IE study).

Mercy Street begins these initiatives after carefully consulting with principals and teachers forming a "partnership" which leads to mutually agreed goals. Our intentions and overall strategy for Interactive Engagement (Q Time) can be viewed by clicking here (IE strategy).

Teachers are under great challenges to meet the goal of educationally equipping every child, especially in urban schools. This includes meeting the demands of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) exams.

Mercy Street comes along side West Dallas schools to help achieve these ends.
