October launched our new fiscal year with incredible momentum. By God’s grace and your generosity, we broke records on North Texas Giving Day, raising over $352,000—our largest total ever. In this issue, you’ll see highlights from our first Mercy Street Scramble, a preview of our upcoming Annual Luncheon, and exciting updates across mentoring, leadership, sports, and community engagement. From college readiness workshops to fall leagues and Trunk-or-Treat, it’s a powerful season ahead, and we’re grateful for your continued prayers and partnership.
We are so grateful for your continued support as Mercy Street makes a real impact in our community this fall. The school year launched with energy at our Jump Off Back to School Event, featuring the powerful Pinkston Drum Line and an inspiring message from Trip Lee that left our students eager for what’s ahead.
As summer winds down and we prepare to head back to school, we’re delighted to share the latest news from Mercy Street. This season has been filled with excitement and joy through the launch of our first summer camp, new sports leagues, meaningful local community outreach and, most joyfully, the Grand Opening of our new Dream Center. Your support has made each of these moments possible, and we thank God the ways you’ve supported and prayed for these programs and initiatives.
It’s an exciting season in West Dallas, and we’re thrilled to share just a glimpse of what God is doing through Mercy Street this summer. From academic enrichment to camps, to community outreach to Flag Football championship games, there’s no shortage of joy, growth, and gospel impact.
In this month’s newsletter, you’ll find an invitation to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of our new Dream Center on July 24th, the return of our neighborhood pool, and the launch of our first-ever Summer Camp at the Lakewest Multipurpose Center.
Summer is here and God is moving! From Summer Day Camp for our elementary kids to the Leadership Institute for the high schoolers inside a brand-new Dream Center… there’s a whole lot happening at Mercy Street, and it’s all because of your prayers, generosity, and support.

We’ve had some wonderful moments to celebrate recently! It was truly inspiring to witness the achievements of our graduating mentees and Leadership Institute students last weekend – their hard work and dedication are a testament to their bright futures. We also enjoyed a fantastic Easter Eggstravaganza, filled with joy and community spirit, thanks in part to our friends at Buckner International and SMU Men’s Soccer Team!
Looking forward, we have a vibrant summer planned! Our “Summer Under the Son” programs will offer engaging and enriching experiences through Summer Basketball, Flag-Football, Cheerleading (NEW), our Summer Leadership Institute, and our launch of a formal Summer Camp!
Spring has definitely sprung at Mercy Street! We’re still celebrating a fantastic Spring Opening Day, thanks to our incredible volunteers and partners, and gearing up for an epic Easter Eggstravaganza for the community next weekend.
The Dream Center renovation is progressing beautifully, promising exciting impact as soon as this summer, and we’re excited about all the new programs that will be birthed in the new space!
As you’ll see in this month’s update, our community is buzzing with incredible opportunities to spread God’s love with Mercy Street. From sharing the gospel of Jesus with our West Dallas neighbors during Spring Break, to our preparation of building future leaders at Stoney Creek Ranch and within our Leadership Institute this summer, we’re witnessing God’s work in action and moving with momentum.
February is here, and we’re stepping into an exciting season of growth and service. A huge shoutout to everyone who joined us for our first Open House of the year—it was amazing to meet you and share the mission that’s transforming lives in West and South Dallas.
This month, we’re rallying around young men at the Built Different Conference, preparing for an unforgettable Spring Break Block Party, and launching new opportunities for mentorship, leadership, and sports—including flag football this summer! Whether you’re stepping up as a mentor, coaching a team, or serving in the community, you’re playing a vital role in shaping the future.
Stepping into 2025, we’re filled with gratitude for your support and excitement for the opportunities ahead. This month, we hope to encourage you to consider making a lasting impact by:
~ Becoming a mentor to guide and encourage a young person. ~ Coaching a soccer or baseball team to inspire growth on and off the field.

As our team prepares to close out 2024, our hearts are filled with gratitude for YOU—our supporters, staff, volunteers, partners, and friends. We are still celebrating 21 years of God’s work through Mercy Street and rejoice together as we raise over $1 million at our annual luncheon to support our community programs. We give thanks for the blessing of two new mini-bus donations, the joy of Trunk-or-Treat with local families, and the excitement of sports activities like the Dallas Mavericks clinic, baseball Senior Day, and volleyball camp. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to our partners, donors, and volunteers—your time, gifts, and prayers make this mission possible every single day.
