May 6th, 2026 Former NFL Players Lead Impactful Football Skills Clinic for Mercy Street SportsFormer NFL players, Jesse Holley and Vernon Scott On April 28, 2026, Mercy Street hosted an exciting Football Skills Clinic that brought together students, mentors, athletes, and community leaders for a day filled with learning, encouragement, and unforgettable moments. From drills and skill development to conversations and mentorship, the clinic created an environment where students were challenged, encouraged, and inspired both on and off the field. A special thank you goes to former NFL players Jesse Holley and Vernon Scott for showing up in such an authentic and impactful way. Their willingness to spend time teaching, encouraging, and connecting with students made a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. We also want to thank Wesley Hawthorne for faithfully serving throughout the entire event and helping make the day such a success. Additionally, it was meaningful to see Pinkston High School’s own Bobby giving back and investing in the same community that helped shape him. A huge thank you also goes to Tau Alpha Phi Fraternity at Dallas Baptist University for supporting this event in such a major way through both financial support and volunteers who helped everything run smoothly from start to finish. While the clinic focused on football fundamentals and athletic development, the impact reached far beyond sports. Events like these remind us that mentorship, leadership, and encouragement can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. Every conversation, every drill, and every moment invested into these students helped reinforce the message that they are seen, valued, and capable of great things. Tags: flag football
