March 4th, 2026 Mercy Street Awarded $1 Million Grant from The Crystal Charity BallWe are deeply grateful to share that Mercy Street has been selected as a 2026 Crystal Charity Ball beneficiary and awarded a $1 Million grant (over three years beginning in 2027) to expand year-round academic support for children in West Dallas. In many Dallas Housing Authority households, families are working hard every day while facing limited access to consistent educational support beyond the school day. Too many children fall behind simply because safe, structured learning environments are not always available during the hours they need them most. This gift allows Mercy Street to launch and grow Summer Camp and After School programs at the Lakewest Multipurpose Center, beginning with 50 and expanding to 300 students. Students will receive tutoring enrichment through evidence-based math and reading curriculum, caring mentorship and learn how to swim in a place where they are known, encouraged, and supported. For parents, it means peace of mind. For children, it opens the door to confidence, stability, and hope.
