Mercy Street Receives $30,000 General Operating Grant from Capital for Kids

Mercy Street is grateful to announce the receipt of a $30,000 General Operating Grant from Capital for Kids to support our Sports, Mentoring, Leadership, Summer Camp, and After School programs.

This investment strengthens the foundation of our daily work in West and South Dallas. General operating support provides the flexibility needed to meet real needs in real time, ensuring that children and families experience consistency, safety, and Christ-centered care across every program area.

Capital for Kids has been a faithful and generous partner of Mercy Street since 2011. Over the past fifteen years, their total investment has grown to exceed half a million dollars. Through this long-term partnership, Mercy Street has expanded from serving approximately 1,600 youth annually to reaching nearly 5,000 children in 2025 through holistic programming that walks with students from Kindergarten through high school graduation and beyond.

Their generosity has helped us expand into new facilities, grow our leadership and mentoring initiatives, strengthen our sports ministry, and launch both Summer Camp and a formal After School Program. These programs are not simply activities. They are structured environments where children receive academic support, spiritual formation, and trusted mentorship during the hours that matter most.

In communities where many families face economic hardship, access to safe, enriching, and relational programs can alter a child’s long-term trajectory. Through sports fields, mentoring circles, leadership classrooms, summer enrichment, and afterschool support, we cultivate mutually transforming relationships rooted in the Gospel.

We are proud to be a Capital for Kids beneficiary and deeply thankful for their continued belief in our mission. Together, we are serving more children, in more ways, and in more places than ever before.

On behalf of Mercy Street and the youth of West and South Dallas, thank you for investing in the next generation.
