What's New at Mercy Street

New Afterschool Program for West Dallas Families

Mercy Street is excited to officially launch our new After School Program, created to serve children and families in West Dallas during the critical hours between 3:30 and 6:30 PM.

For more than two decades, Mercy Street has walked alongside families in this community through sports, mentoring, and leadership development. Through ongoing conversations with parents, schools, and community partners, one need has been consistently clear: safe, structured, high-quality afterschool care for elementary students while parents are still at work.

This program is our response.

A Safe and Supportive Environment

The Mercy Street After School Program provides a Christ-centered, relational environment where students in grades K through 5 can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Hosted at the Lakewest Multipurpose Center, the program is designed to support both children and working families in a meaningful way.

Each afternoon includes:

• Homework help and academic support
• Enrichment activities such as art, STEM, music, and sports
• Social-emotional learning integration
• A safe space for mentorship and positive peer interaction
• Snack and dinner provided daily

Our goal is simple and intentional. We want students to leave each day encouraged, supported, and confident, knowing they are valued and capable.

We are grateful for the schools, families, partners, and supporters who helped bring this vision to life. Their investment is already creating a safe and engaging environment for the next generation.
