June 8th, 2026 From Mentee to Graduate: A Generational WinWe recently got to celebrate something really special. Edgar, one of our very own Mercy Street mentees, graduated from high school — and became the first in his family to do so. We can’t say that enough. First. In. His. Family. That is huge, and it deserves every bit of celebration it gets. This moment didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of perseverance, hard work, real growth, and the faithfulness of God over Edgar’s life. It also reflects the steady commitment of his mentor, Brian Roy, our Director of Sports Operations, who showed up, walked alongside him, spoke life into him, shared Jesus with him, and never stopped believing in the purpose God placed in him. That’s what mentoring at Mercy Street looks like. It’s not a program on a calendar. It is a mutually transforming relationship where lives are shaped, faith is strengthened, and futures are changed. We also want to honor Edgar’s parents, whose steadfast love, sacrifices, and determination helped make this moment possible. They chose to aim high for their son, continued believing in his future, and trusted God through the journey. Edgar, your whole Mercy Street family is so incredibly proud of you. Step into this next chapter with courage, confidence, and purpose. God is absolutely not finished writing your story! Tags: impact story
